black screen after replacement

i've just replaced my screen myself. after i connected the wires i checked the screen and it worked as it should. i then proceeded to put the screen in place but when i had done that my screen didnt work anymore. it just shoved a light dark color, like it was on but couldnt show anything.

i tried to switch back to old screen again to see if it was my new screen that was the problem. but the old screen did the same. i've seen now that the is a proection film on the inside of the screen i hadn't noticed before. could that be the cause of the problem?

Thanks for trying Magnus...unfortunately the focus is off. These are difficult pictures to take with just a phone.

And the new battery is in there?

さんによる

Can you take a another picture, but this time zoomed in on the upper connectors area?

Replacement screens have a (typically) red plastic film protecting the backlight. It should be removed when you transfer the the backplate from the broken screen to the replacement screen. Leaving it on by mistake shouldn't have any adverse effect though.

What's not clear from your question is what happened when you went from a working replacement screen (i checked the screen and it worked as it should) and a bad situation (i then proceeded to put the screen in place but ... my screen didnt work anymore)?

Did you remove it and put it back on or did you try to screw the cable bracket while it was powered on? Or was it something else?

Depending on your answer, it could be a damaged backlight circuit or Long Screw Damage (putting the wrong screws in the wrong place on the cable bracket).

Let us know.

yeah i screwed the cable bracket on while my phone was on. is this what caused the black screen, and how can i fix it? thanks for the reply

It's always risky to be poking a screwdriver around a live circuit board. The battery should be the first thing you disconnect and the last thing you re-connect.

I would go back and check to make sure the proper screws are where they should be. If that is good, then look inside the standoffs (where the screws go) to see if the board underneath looks damaged. If that looks good, then you eliminate LSD.

さんによる

it looks like nothing is damaged. so what do you mean by eliminate LSD?

さんによる

If the screws were in the right place and there doesn't seem to be any damage in the standoffs, then you probably don't have Long-Screw Damage. If you want to take LSD (the psychedelic drug), that's your prerogative ;>).

I would remove and re-install the screen one last time(try both the original and replacement) to see if that solves your problem. Otherwise, you may have a blown backlight circuit. You should also inspect the logic board near the connectors as you may have accidentally knocked a component off the board. You could post a picture so we can look at it.

Shine a flashlight, on the screen, while it's on to see if you've blown the backlight

maybe you have damaged any display capacitor or backlight filter while disconnecting lcd from connectors.backlight ways

if you have multimeter and know basics of board repair then check picture above and see if get continuity on marked points.
