Are the touch keys handeled by the touch screen?

Hello, I took off the old touch screen wich was loca glued and while trying the new touch screen I noticed it was working except for the touch keys, didn't give it any thought and immediately ordered new touch keys, touch keys have arrived but upon closer inspection I'm almost 100℅ sure that the back and menu button is handeled by the touch screen.
