Clothing still real wet after spin cycle

It seems as if the washer won't spin all the water out of each load...

Could the drain or pump be partially clogged?

It spins just fine, but clothes are still real wet at the end of cycles..

Cause 1

Drain Pump

Sometimes, small objects or articles of clothing can get caught in the drain pump. To determine if anything is blocking the drain pump, remove the drain pump and check the pump for obstructions. If the drain pump is clear of obstructions, but is still noisy during the drain cycle, replace the drain pump.

Cause 2

Clogged Pump or Hose

Sometimes, socks and other small articles of clothing can get into the drain system and clog the pump hose or the pump itself. Remove the hoses from the pump and check for any obstructions.

If the Done light is lit and the lid has unlocked as normal winh NO flashing locked light, your washer may have bad suspension rods. This assumes several things: 1) Your pump and hose are not blocked and draining properly as per the previous comments. 2) we are speaking about a Whirlpool vertical modular top load machine which goes under many brands including Whirlpool, Maytag Centennial, Amana and others. When the washer attempts to spin and the tub bangs around excessively, the washer will back off the spin speed and attempt several times to spin up to high speed. After several tries it will give up and final spin may never reach a high enough speed to extract the water. Of course an overloaded washer or badly imbalanced load like a bunch of towels all on one side of the tub may cause this in a normally working washer. If it happens all the time suspect the suspension rods. Each one has a spring and “shock absorber" and it's the shock that wears out. If they are worn and have no damping ability left, the tub will bang around and cause the machine to keep aborting the high spin cycle to avoid destroying itself. A quick check is, with an empty machine and the lid open, push down on the center of the agitator. There should be some resistance to your push and the whole tub should push down slowly. When you let go, the tub should rise slowly. If it pops right back up, the shock absorber - damper part of the suspension rods are shot. There are a bunch of great YouTube videos showing how to replace the 4 rods and it's pretty easy. Hope this helps someone fix their machine!
