What is this (possibly conductive) gray foam adhesive called and where

I have a theory about touch issues that occur after the glass/digitizer replacement on tablets. I believe that the issues are due to the lack of replacement /reapplication of this gray foam tape that is possibly conductive.

However, I have not been able to find this tape/adhesive anywhere. It would help if I knew the name of the product and the maker too? And is this tape conductive? Is anybody else experimented with this stuff? Am I of the correct thinking that this tape may play a role in touch issues following repairs?

I thank the community for their input!

I'm on my second LCD digitizer and I think the issue is the foam and/or the tape or lack of. With the first LCD digitizer unit, I reapplied the foam I had removed from the original, and everything worked fine until I closed it up, then had all kinds of blank areas on the touch screen. (yes i'm sure the cable wasn't kinked.)

I want to replace the foam instead of reusing the foam. I think it helps the spacing between the parts. where can I find more foam?

Just insulate the digitiser. New digitisers short out to the metal frame, causing the touch issues. Just insulate the surround of the touch screen with kapton tape (with iPad Airs, I would have to put kapton tape around all edges of the touch screen). This will stop the touch issue. See Digitizer activating itself after digitiser replacement for more details.

Don't know what the grey tape is, but ^ is the best solution to your problem.
