Is there any way to get data off my broken phone?
My touchscreen doesn't respond AND the device isn't recognised by my PC when connected via usb. Is there any way I can get my photos / music out?
Thanks
@bryn_gunn not unless you get it to get recognized or started up. Consider replacing the front display assembly to see if you can then at least access your files and may be send/store them somewhere else. As in not being recognized, could be related to a bad lightning port connector. Here are the guides for the repair.

The computer is probably not recognising the device because the device has not trusted the connection to the computer which requires the user to tap on 'Trust' when the message pops up on the phone after having it unlocked and plugged in.
Your best bet is to get the screen replaced if the touch screen does not work and is not caused by liquid damage.

Hi @benjamen50 ,
Just wondering. With some, (not all) Android phones you can use a USB mouse via an OTG to navigate thru the screens, also a keyboard to enter the pin code if necessary when the touch screen doesn't work.It requires quick transfer of cable from mouse to PC but it is possible or perhaps you can use WiFi to send info Haven't tried this as I don't have WiFi. Is there some similar option with an iPhone?

Wifi wouldn't really help when the touch screen is non functional.
For input from wired mouse it will require jailbreaking with manual installation of usb hardware input device drivers on the device itself. So in short usb wired mouse is no go.
iOS seemed to never have support for input tethering via keyboard or mouse. They all need to go at least through Bluetooth as paired device(s).
