Can 1440x900 screen on mbp15 i7 be upgraded to 1680x1050 by user

hi all,i just wondered if i can purchase a 1680x1050 screen for my 15" i7 and do an upgrade from 1440x900 stock it came with?,or can i send it somewhere or order from here or third party and do it myself,im fairly competent with electronics,not an expert,but pretty handy nevertheless,etc.is it a universal plug/socket,and are the electronics different for a mbpro with hi res screen?anyone happen to know?thanks ,david.
