My MacBook is making a whirring sound

In the last couple of days, my 2015 Macbook Pro has been periodically making a whirring noise. It has never done this before. What is it and do I need to replace something?

You should be under warranty, and as long as that's the case, don't touch anything else until you check. If you have coverage then you don't want to void it...

Even if it's newly out of coverage, if you can easily get an appointment with the "Genius's," they can be convinced to help.
