Phone screen is not working after phone became waterlogged.
Hi all,
My phone (Huawei ascend G6 I think, but cannot check due to phone not working) has got a black screen, due to the fact that I managed to accidentally soak it.
The phone itself appears to be "fully functioning", however the screen is not receiving input, nor can I see anything (completely black screen). The phone is still vibrating to inform me of new notifications. I can turn the phone on and off, etc.
Unfortunately I cannot take most of the steps the internet recommends:
- I cannot take the battery out, as the battery is non-removable.
- I cannot turn the phone off, as if I hold the power button to forcibly turn it off, it simply starts back up again (this is normal for the phone).
- I cannot "take apart and clean" the phone, as it is not possible to do that (just like the battery is non-removable, so is almost everything else).
After my phone was made wet, it continued to work for the rest of the afternoon and evening, all of the night, and only started malfunctioning in the morning, when I noticed that certain parts of the screen were becoming darker and then flickering lighter again. Eventually, the screen just became black and stopped working.
Will the screen work again? What should I do? There is probably still water in the phone but the only thing I can do is wait for it to come out (rice is useless at this point, as the only water is water droplets in the screen).
It is worth mentioning that the phone has been through a lot... And has even survived being completely submerged in a river.

After restarting my phone again, the start screen flickered into life twice for about 0.1 seconds, before going black again. In other words, looks promising.

Restarted in the morning, and for a solid 30 seconds the screen worked before blacking out again. I am getting hopeful that the issue may just resolve itself.
