left wiper blades sticks in upright position

I have a 13 plate scenic 1.5 dci and i'm having problems with the window wipers. Every now and then the right side one stalls and that causes the left one to stick in an upright position. the right one then works fine. When I lock car and return the left one returns to normal position as soon as I unlock and open the door. What could be causing this?
