Video or music audio doesn't work, but other audio does work.

Hey everybody.

So Recently I couldn't listen to music or didn't get any audio on videos on my phone (HTC one M7). Even if i put my earplugs in, it doesn't work, it doesn't even notice they are in(no headset icon) and I tried different earplugs and headphones. Even tho I can't even play music with my speakers It still makes a sound when someone calls me/ When I start up my phone so it must be something with the software.

Now I noticed when I pressed long on my volume button and went to where you can adjust your audio of seperate things that I could put the sound of "music and video" either 100% or 0% and nothing in between. And if I put it on 100% it still doesn't work.

I tried restarting it, didn't work.

Can anyone help me please ?

Try cleaning/clearing the headset jack with canned air. If this does not resolve you might have to hard reset the device.

Hard reset did work.

Kind a sucks I lost all my contacts.

However thanks man.

You could of backed up the contacts (Provably can save to sim card too) and photos to a microSD card using contacts and photos app that came with the phone. Just saying.
