My S6 edge gets super hot
it gets super hot and the screen is blank but you can feel the heat rapidly moving from the power button all the way through the device....... O.,k. so here is what I have tried thus far. when the phone was first dropped the screen went black and so I naturally assumed it to be a bad lcd or digitizer. I at the time ignored the heating issue thinking it was just part of the damage. so I replaced the screen and nothing. I took the new screen back off and put it on a friends phone and it worked great and then i took his screen and put it my phone and nothing..... So i thought it has to be a mother/logic board issue and you can still see the burnt area near the power button where it ( and i am guessing) shorted out. So hopefull it was a power button issue i took it out cleaned it up and put it back in... nothing. Now I am certain that its a mother board issue...but giving one last check i took the phone by its side and banged it directly on the power button against the edge of my desk and walla the phones screen came on to the stabut at least i now felt like the mother board was good. I next ordered a new power button replacement and just finished the install and guess what? nothing no screen zippo zilch. i plugged it in to its charger and the same heating issue, only this time the phone gets so hot you almost cannot touch it. My thoughts are the connectors that give the power button its juice from the battery is the problem ... however I wouldn't even know where to start to see if one of the capacitors is bad. So I guess my next question is my galaxy s6 edge toast? Can you guys Fix or t
Repair a mother board?
