3 LCD won't stay stuck
I recently replaced the LCD/digitizer assembly on my LG G3 D850. I had to use my two sided tape, I can't get the re-cut crap to work. Anyway, I got done and all seemed fine. Went to boot it this morning and noticed the screen was no longer flush to the border around it.
Every bit of the frame in the handset had tape on it. I then seated the display and affixed it into place. After pressing firmly all around the edge, I used my SMD and heated it just like I was taking it off. About 180c. Then it was another few minutes pressing firmly all the way around again.
I thought all was well until this morning. Is there a "secret" or something to make this a sure repair? If nothing else, I will try any suggestions to see what works, so please give me some ideas. I tried what I know to no avail.
What kind of tape are you using? That matters a lot especially when the device heats up the adhesive needs to retain a strong bond on the screen frame and the glass.
Pre-cut adhesive is usually applied onto the front display frame first then you put the screen on top after you peel the plastic protector thing or whatever it is called.
I had issues at first using it but if you need to you can use tweezers or sometging to peel off the protection plastic cover off the screen adhesive when putting it on. Once you start using it more you get used to it and it gets easy.
I sometimes use more then the precut screen adhesive and use some bonding glue (I use b2000 liquid glue but there are probably better ones depending on the application) with a bit at the potential weak spots of where the adhesivre is just to be safe.
