It won't charge after changing LCD

Hello,

I repaired a Huawei P8 Lite today and while I installed the new LCD I held the power button to check functionality. The power status LED on top left front turned on Red and then faded. It was 2+ weeks without a charger so I thought it might be empty. I finished the repair and put everything back together and on charge.

But after 5 hours the device still doesn´t react when pushing the power button.

I disassembled everything carefully but couldn´t find any damages done to the phone.

And wouldn´t the battery have to get a little warm while charging? The phone remains cold. I will wait till tomorrow and hope for a recharged phone, but any clues in advance?

I have the same problem, after changing screen with frame it does not start from power button, when charger is plugged in it blinks red 3 times, then once longer and the screen flashes for a moment.

When i hold vol down button and then hold power button the screen flashes for a moment repeatedly.

If the red dot flashes when connecting the phone to the charger, then you have a problem on the battery or the MB power connector is damaged. Test all MB battery connector pinouts against ground pad. The two pin in the middle don't gives you continuity, but check resistance that should be about 3.7 ohms. If the connector it's ok, then change the battery.

I thinke you've broken some kind of circuits while repairing the phone, the chance of static electricity going from your fingers to the phone is really big if you don't use protection.

hi guys.

I replaced a screen today and the exact same thing happened.

There were three little LED blinks and the charge icon showed briefly on the screen, but the phone showed 0% charge and wasn't charging. which was weird because it was at 30% a couple hours before when i shut it down.

So i tried disassembling again and check the battery connections, the upper 2 pins. they felt a bit out of place, so i did the connections again very carefully and screwed that little internal cover and it worked again!

then i assembled the whole thing back and it was malfunctioning again.

Once more i disassembled and assembled all again, and it worked, this time with the cover back on.

Bad news is, it worked only for 10 minutes and then died.

So now i'm thinking it's something wrong in the frame i purchased or for some reason it seems to be draining battery faster than it charges...

so it was not working and i disassembled the bottom side now to check the mUSB connector and as i assembled it it seems fine again, battery is back at 25%, and seems to be charging... i'm still in my defective frame theory, until a better one presents itself...

For me it was the battery.I replaced it an everything worked. Probably I pushed it too hard and broke it.

I have the exact same problem.I installed lcd amd after that phone doesnt charge.When i unplugged the battery it opened(with charger) but for 30 sec cause i didnt have battery.I only get a red light on top left of screen and nothing else.My battery is warm and i used it on my damaged screen(touchscreen problem not lcd display) and it worked.Can my new frame cause that problem?I dont know what else to think about,i tried everything.

Yes, I solved it by changing the battery. You most probably ruined the battery when removing it. Buy a new one and replace it gently this time. Don't use pointy screwdrivers and try not to bend the battery.

Changing battery solved me the problem,but i couldn't hear when i was talking with someone on the phone.I should answer my calls on loudspeaker or headphones.So,today i opened carefully again,i did it all right cause i opened it more than 20 times and now touchscreen doesnt work.I did hard reset and nothing happens...Pfff any ideas?
