How to troubleshoot and assess water damage to MacBook components?

Hi guys

This is kind of a repost since i didn't get an answer when i updaten the original question.

So i flooded my macbook with tea. I dried it and it turned back on again, but with worsening fan and kernel_task issues. After a couple of days it would not turn back on after shutting it down( not sure if i heard something fry when pushing power button).

So here are some pictures after some initial cleaning with 99% isopropyl and a soft toothbrush.

You can still see some dirt here and there, but mainly some kind of residue that still seems to cling to the boards; probably fromn the tee?! I dont know if it is something that isopropyl is not good at dissolving or if i was just too prudent with the brush?!

On the i/o board the residue you can see is from the rubbery patch in the middle, the alcohol seems to be disolving and spreading it?! anyhow tell me what you think or if you need more pictures! how do i get an idea of what the problem is?? If i dont see corrosion is it worth replacing the battery and try powering it up?

please help!

thank you in advance!

Hello,

In picture 5 and 6 you can see some signs that look like liquid damage. Did you let the computer dry for at least 24h after you cleaned the board with alcoohol?
