Top tray jammed, Pull tray out...

I keep getting the following error: Top tray jammed. Pull tray out. Press OK to continue (code 3550). I pull the tray out... then I get the following: Top tray jammed. Push tray in. Press OK to continue (code 3551). Soooo, I push the tray in... and the errors just keep repeating themselves! There are no jams, trays, paper, or foreign objects of any kind! Is there any way to disconnect use of the top paper tray? I never use it anyway!
