I replaced the cam sensor on my 2000 GMC Safari and now I can't get rid of the check engine light. It used to be just intermittent. The code I am getting is "Cam Sensor Bank 2 Circuit Malfunction". Can someone tell me what that means?

A code P0345 could mean one or more of the following has happened: a wire or connector in the circuit could be grounded/shorted/broken the camshaft position sensor may have failed the PCM may have failed there exists an open circuit the crankshaft position sensor may have failed
With a P0345 OBD-II trouble code, diagnosis can be tricky at times. Here are some things to try: Visually inspect all the wiring and connectors in the circuit Check for continuity in the circuit wiring Check the operation (voltage) of the camshaft position sensor Replace the camshaft position sensor as required Check the crankshaft position circuit as well Replace circuit wiring and/or connectors as required Diagnose/replace the PCM as required
However that all said you may just need to erase the code. just because you fixed the problem doesn't make the code leave you do need to erase the code. If you have access to a obdII reader you can use it to reset the system if not disconnect the battery for about 2 hours and leave the lights on while its disconnected this will drain any residual power from the PCM. When you restart the truck let it idle for 5 minutes before revving the engine then for the first 20 minutes of driving drive nice to help set up the computer

Thanx for responding so quickly. I have already replaced cam sensor(twice), replaced crank sensor, reset the pcm three or four times and each time the light returns immediately. I will be trying to trace the wires next. Thanx again for your input.
I replaced my crank shaft sensor on my 07 Tahoe. The code was p0016 I got it reset three times and the light came back on every time.
