Hello, my 2.4 ghz macbook pro a1286 15 inch, have this problem, the backlight is dead, I tried a new screen and I connected to the LVDS connector, after this experiment the backlight is off forever , I do not know where to start your search for the fault, one thing is for sure not get power to the ribbon of the backlight on all the threads, no one has a wiring diagram for this model? thanks Luca

Have you tried replacing the inverter board? You had to replace the inverter board first, its cheaper and most likely the cause of the backlight issue. The LVDS cable does not handle backlighting on your machine. The inverter board and inverter cable are the most likely culprits.
