Why is my caliper sticking on rear drivers side only?

I have replaced calipers and hoses on both rear sides several times, I've replaced the ABS box but the caliper on the rear drivers side is still sticking and is getting over 100° hotter than the other brakes from just a nine mile trip with a few stops but mostly its continuous driving between 45-60 MPH. I have a small child that I have to drive out of state for medical reasons and can no longer get rides from others so I need to get this fixed. Obviously it has front and rear disc brakes. Its four wheel drive with a 4.0 engine. Any help?

If you have problems only with the rear it could be a bad proportioning valve that is only working one way. If you have no joy here then check for pinched or crushed brake lines . It could also be a bad master cylinder that will not allow revers flow of brake fluid .However this would cause both rear brakes to size at the same time. It will also be a good idea to change the brake fluid if you've heated the brakes beyond there normal operating temp . Once its overheated it can begin caramelizing . My thought on this though is that you have a bad proportioning valve. Hope this helps

Thanks, I was going to buy one tomorrow before I posted this. Its been frustrating because changing all those parts is time consuming and is expensive. I'm going to get the valve at the junk yard and if that's the problem for sure I'll buy a new one. Since its a dealer only item the cheapest I've found it new was on partsgeek.com for $125. That's a lot more than I can spend and not knowing for sure if it'll fix it. Thanks so very much! I'll let you know if it fixes it.

lots of luck with your fix and while at it change out the brake fluid . Its definitely going to help keep from having more problems down the road

Is the valve near the booster or is it located between front and rear brakes? I'm hearing a 50\50 split on where its at.

Follow the brake line from the master to the spliter then follow the the line to the back there should be a valve in each line before the flex line to the back axle

I am having a similar problem with my 2012 Jeep compass, after replacing the right rear brake caliper and pads and brake hose to the caliper. My right rear wheel gets hotter than the other three wheels and will squeak for a few seconds when starting out after sitting, then quiets down. If this is the same kind of problem, hopefully it could be the same fix.
