Why doesn't my horn work
Why didn't my horn work? Fuse works but gets hot. Relay is good
The 1999 Chevrolet Malibu is part of the fifth generation (1997-2003) manufactured by General Motors. This is the first smaller, front-wheel-drive Malibu that General Motors put back on the market after the Malibu line was temporarily discontinued in the early 1980's.
If the fuse gets hot when you press the horn button and the relay is working then it seems as though the horn itself may be faulty.
(Horn button operates the relay - relay supplies power from the fuse to the horn).
If you have a DMM (digital multimeter) check that power is getting to one side of the horn when you press the horn button. There should be ground (earth) on the other side of the horn. If power gets there and there is no sound then the horn itself is faulty.
