Ifixit screen assembly has erratic touch, broken ear speaker.

Hey guys, after my issue with the replacement screen doing a quick bluescreen and boot loop I had solved it by doing a factory restore in DFU mode and now It does turn on.

Unfortunately testing the functionality of the screen assembly I have noticed some janky touch sensitivity, phantom key presses and sporadic areas of the screen not working. Also the ear speaker does not seem to work on phone calls.

I am wondering if anyone has experienced these issues on a screen assembly replacement from ifixit and if the issue could be on my end or is the assembly itself/speaker/digitizer might be defective?

Edit: I feel maybe I should add that the front camera and proximity sensor seem to be working fine.

It could be defective and exchanged. My guess however, if you got the blue screen, which is something that happens when you're tinkering with the phone too much, you've damaged the display assembly. They still may honor the exchange though

I solved my bluescreen/boot loop issue with your tip about recovering in DFU mode. The blue screen was only a quick flash after the apple logo was present for 15seconds and then rebooted. I am curious as to how you think I may have damaged the display assembly?

These are fragile pieces of equipment. They don't like being played with. I know this sounds a little rediculous. I would try and see if an exchange is possible. Will likely solve your problem

Fair enough, although although after doing a few screen replacements on family android devices and previously doing my 4s twice I know the cables and screen itself are very delicate. I personally don't feel it likely that I damaged this unit although that is a possibility. The initial blue screen issues were without me putting the screen back into the frame while testing so I am doubting it was screen/digitizer flex or even connection issues as I have also inspected them with my scope and no pins on either logic board or assembly were damaged.

Thanks for the replies.

You couldve also damaged your logic board as well in that case you will need a new logic board. easy way to tell is to look at the connectors on the last one on the left, that is the connector for the screen and if there is any damage to the connector you will need to replace the logic board.

I have used my 60-100x scope to look at the pins on both the screen assembly connectors and logic board connections and no pins look damaged or bend in any way.
