freezes at start up but will work after 15 minutes in refrigerator

My GoPro always freezes on start up. Will not cycle, record or turn-off. However, if I put it in the Refrigerator for 30 minutes it will act normally and perform all functions. Interestingly, when it warms up to room temperature it will freeze again and stop working. What is the explanation for this? How can I fix this camera?
