Fixing damaged iPhone 6 Plus screen

Ok so, I have quite a story to tell:

I was playing with my iPhone 6 Plus when an old Moto X phone fell from my cabinet and smashed into my iPhone 6 Plus. The damage is quite severe as the phone hit the top of the phone, smashing through the bezel. There is now a big gap in the phones front screen, and the part that identifies if the phone is up to your ear is acting up. I can see into the phones components now, which is not good. Another thing is now the battery is acting up, dropping from 48% to 13% in the matter of 4 minutes, and even shutting off when I have 20% charge left in it.

I would like to fix the phone on my own since I have experience fixing phones, but I need some help. What part do I need to exactly buy? The screen is cracked, but everything else is working fine. When I looked at the LCD part on iFixit, it said that "Touch ID will no longer work if your replace the screen with this one". I don't want to lose my Touch ID functionality, and I just want my phone to go back to working again. It's on its last legs and the screen is nearly about to fall off.

Now, this is something random off the top of my head, but is it possible to upgrade my 6 plus with a 6s screen as well as the taptic engine to give it 3D touch? Is it also possible to upgrade the camera with a 6s camera?

Thank you, any help would be appreciated.

When you say that the other phone smashed through the bezel, does that mean that the rear aluminum housing is damaged too?

I would assume that the rear housing is fine. If it is bent a little, you might be able to straighten it out with whatever tools you have available.

It is really hard to assess the damage done to the phone with that description, so I can only assume, that the logic board is undamaged too.

First of all, you will not loose any Touch ID functionality by changing the screen. That will only happen if you replace the home button, as the home button is paired to the logic board.

From what I can hear, you might be best off buying a full screen assembly. This will ease the replacement process, and you would only have to change over the home button from your old screen.

Furthermore, if you buy a full screen assembly, the proximity sensor will be included. I am almost certain that the old proximity sensor still works, and that it only malfunctions due to the cracked screen - but it is better to be on the safe side.

With regards to the battery, the issue is a little more cloudy. To me it sounds like a dead battery, but if you just started noticing it, after the accident, it could sound like you have some damage to the logic board. If i were you, i would try and replace the battery, when you are replacing the screen anyway. The battery is fortunately fairly cheap and easy to replace.

With regards to using 6S components on the 6, that is not possible. The connectors on the components are not the same and the hardware and software on the iPhone 6 does not support 3D touch.

I hope this answers your questions.
