iPhone Battery Connector on the Logic Board

Good Morning,

This question is associated with the post at Battery replacement gone bad on iPhone 4s

So after reviewing the following videos,

1. From pugeotsoundelectronics.com

https://youtu.be/264da0dip68

2. From icrack

https://youtu.be/aSUirUBmsZs

3. From Kyle and Jessa at iFixit

https://youtu.be/Dn_DS2c_VtE

I decided to open the phone one more time and look at the connector. No doubt, that the connector is the problem. It turns out that the battery connector was broken and the friend tried to glue it. The connector is partially broken and is still stuck to the logic board. See the attached pictures below.

So now the question is, how can

1. I remove the remaining segment of the plastic stuck to the logic board.

2. Check that there is no damage in the circuit (i.e. connectivity test to confirm that the circuit is still good and that glue has not created any shorts).

3. And then attempt to re-solder a new connector, without disassembling the entire phone and get the logic board out.

Any thoughts will be very helpful?

Well.. Technically.. You wouldn't have to remove the logic board. Just heat up the board and carefully remove the plastic (what's remaining) connector. Then apply a new one. However, if you're going to micros older a logic board. I really don't see why you couldn't just take it out of the phone. Remember to use lots of flux!

Hello iMedic, is this the right parts for this phone. 1) battery connector - http://www.ebay.com/itm/171836794228, 2) is that little part that sits on the top screw ( i dont know what its called - http://www.ebay.com/itm/111308362250

can you please confirm ?

Yep. Those are the parts that you need. Good luck with the soldering. Again, use all the flux you'll need. Don't burn the board

Thanks @iMedic, appreciate you replying. The phone does not start at all now. Any ideas what may have happened ?

さんによる

Hmm. So you're saying you soldered the new part on, and the phone won't connect to the battery now?

さんによる

No. After a while, the phone stopped turning on without soldering the connector or any thing. Now when I connect to the wall charger, the apple symbol shows up and the phone turns off.
