How is it assembled and configured

Hi guys, am joining my third year to my diploma in electrical and electronics and am supposed to be doing a project next year.

well ... the alcatel link is something that intrests me and with our system of education theory takes like 99.9...9% and practical is like 0.000...1% .now my question is how is the alcatel link developed and can i get a tutorial of how its created or anything close to that form the basics??
