Hi,

Do you mean your touchscreen or touchpad?

There have been numerous complaints about Dell's 5000 series touchpads being too sensitive and causing the exact same behaviour you're experiencing.

The only solution to come out of it was to turn off your PC, gently wipe clean your touchpad with a clean dry cloth, then cover it with a cut to size mobile phone screen protector.

This is a quote from the following link which says it all

After all this time the screen protector has been proven to be the only solution to this weird touchpad problem that affects the inspiron 3000, 4000, 5000, and 7000 series. I have the 5547.

What do you mean by refreshing?

Did you also reinstall all the drivers for your laptop:

Especially the touchscreen drivers.

hi thank you for replaying

refreshing i mean by that flicking its like when you press the right button of the mouse or touchpad and press refresh but its keep going on and never stop ...

i went> to settings> update and recovery > then remove everything and reinstall windows

Install the touchpad and video drivers from the Dell site. That will probably fix the problem.

i did it but nothing change but while im checking the setting by coincidence i disable the touch screen device from device manager and the refreshing is gone but what to do to fix my touch screen???

Weird question: Does this also happen when the laptop is only on the battery?

Anyways:

Sounds like your touchscreen keeps getting "touched" while it isnt.

Try cleaning the whole screen, especially in the corners. And you can also try to get a screen protector like Jayeff said.

In the end it might also be a broken screen/cable. In this case you can just disable the touchscreen and work without it if that is an option for you.

i have the SAME issue on my dell 5559, the bottom right corner, the taskbar keeps refreshing, the icons keep refreshing and stuff, and my touchscreen isnt working at ALL

i tried to reinstall NEW OS, i even tried to put another hard drive from another laptop with different windows version. it still happens, the bottom right corner of my screen somehow keeps getting touched or my touchscreen is damaged with no physical sign of damage

its like my screen is being touched non stop by something, so when i touch it with my fingers it doesnt do nothing.

my whole desktop keeps refreshing, its not a SOFTWARE or OS issue, ive tried reinstalling/diff harddrive from diff laptop. the problem is hardware

laptop is less than a year old. no damage never dropped always kept in laptop case, yet the touch screen is so annoying. the laptop lags and freezes due to constant refreshing of desktop and taskbar refreshing

Hi,

As it appears to be a hardware fault, since the laptop is less than 12 months old, consult the manufacturer's warranty statement that came with the laptop to firstly verify the warranty period and if still valid follow the directions in the statement as to what to do to make a claim for a manufacturer's warranty repair or replacement
