iPod shuffle, 2nd Gen. 1 Gb- No green light, no power- why?

Nick, users should generally use our guides for repair instructions, not teardowns. "Teardowns provide a look inside a device and should not be used as disassembly instructions." We often omit key disassembly steps for the sake of brevity, in order to get onto describing the cooler parts of the device.
However butrpg, as can be seen in this teardown, the battery in the iPod shuffle 2nd Gen is soldered to the logic board. Thus fixing it would not be simple unless you or a friend had some soldering skills. We do not yet have a battery replacement guide for your iPod, if you do replace the battery though, please come back and show us how you did it!

Thank you Taylor- the teardown is extremely helpful and I would love to do it, but where do I find the battery?
In that guide, the battery can be seen most clearly in steps 8, 9, and 10. It is the white packet with an orange border that flips out from the logic board. If you meant where to buy a replacement battery, unfortunately iFixit does not sell that part. You might find what you're looking for with this ebay search though. Please keep in mind that even though it's a reasonable starting point, the teardown is not intended to be used as disassembly instructions, and doing so may result in permanently damaging your device. If you still decide to go forward with the repair, it looks to me like it's probably only 2 quick solders. Good luck!
I found the battery on Digi Express for $15.
I can in no way vouch for the quality of any battery provider, but I would point out that two of the four results on the ebay search I linked have batteries for $4.49 - $5.45 instead of $15. :)
