Why is my phone showing process com.android.phone?

When my phone is ON, it frequently shows "process com.android.phone" and request that I should click on "Wait" or "OK" button. At times, the phone just suddenly hangs and go blank. After a while, it comes on again back to the screen. How do I resolve this please?
