Why won't my headphones won't turn on?

If the controller won't turn on when you firmly press the power button in the center of the controller, your batteries have probably been drained or gone bad. Try replacing the two AA batteries in the controller. Once that is done, both the controller and the headphones should turn on if the headset is properly connected to the controller. To ensure that they are connected, try unplugging the XO Four audio adapter from the Xbox One controller and then plugging it back it.
