Is home button cable ripping common?

Hi Everyone,

Just curious -- I had difficulty removing the home button cable from the front panel of the iPhone 6 and ended up ripping it. Is this common? The adhesive seemed very strong even though I took my time. I am curious to know if anyone else has a good strategy for this. Also, from my research, I don't think the phone will lose Touch ID functionality, since it was only the home button cable that suffered damage. Is this true?
