want to repair the power cord on an Apple Ipad2

The power cord to my Apple Ipad2, one of the wire's exposed. How would I be able to fix it long enough to charge it until I receive the other ones that I ordered? My Ipad has about 2% power and I would like to see if I could repair the wire, The part where you connect to the pad, I pulled it out by accident, so I managed to push back the wires, but I noticed that one of them is exposed. I believe it's the red wire. Could I put electrical wire?

Dear Patsy Emig,

Hope you are talking about lightning cable,

i'm not going to encourage you to repair lightning cable as it may causes your iPad may be damaged or even end with dead if you reconnect power lines wrongly .

but still you have chance to fix it

yes, as you mentioned red one is + (5v)

black wire - (5v)

white and green wires may required to accessory identity/ sync, so you may have to connect them too

What I was trying to do is this, I accidently pulled out the wires off of my I Pad, from the power cord, the part that connects to the I Pad, so I gently pushed them back in, but as I was doing that I noticed that the red wire was a little exposed. So, I tried to fix it, then push the wire back into the end of the power cord, but it wouldn't charge my I Pad. I guess, I am going to have to wait until I receive my new power cord that I had purchased. I hope this didn't mess up my I Pad when I tried to push the wires back to re-charge my I Pad. Thanks for your help! Have a great weekend!!
