Touch ID problems with original sensor

Hi guys, basically I smashed my iPhone 6 about a week ago I replaced the screen but in the process I tore the Touch ID extension flex that runs behind the LCD. I ordered a new flex cable from eBay and installed it. Home button now works flawlessly but Touch ID does not. Now when I try to setup a fingerprint it does not say failed or anything, it just acts as if it does not know that I'm touching the sensor. The reach ability function also does not work. I have reseated the cables at least 10 times and have also restore the phone in iTunes, but it still will not work. Please guys can anyone help ?

Try another long flex. As long as your original home button and the little flex is intact, this should be work. eBay parts are often defective.

Yes I would think it would throw error 53 with bad long flex. Any chance you damaged the button itself?

Don't think so, looked at it under a magnifying glass and it looks fine. No nicks or kinks. Just doesn't work
