Installed new screen now doesn't work when put to sleep and woken

When I installed a screen on my g2 it powered on with know problem when I turn the screen off and back on it shows the screen completly colored with vertical lines when I power the device off and back on it works when it goes to sleep it has the same problem any help will be appreciated.
