I have heat, but it turns off before the clothes are dry. After it cools down it will turn back on.

It's possible you have a blockage in your exhaust and it is shutting off due to overheating, that or one of the internal operation thermometers is stuck closed. Try this test | (copied from somewhere else)

Disconnect the flexible exhaust vent hose behind the dryer to that it will vent directly into the laundry room instead of to the outside of the home.

Position the dryer so that you can check the air temperature coming out of the exhaust air vent on the back of the dryer with an accurate thermometer.

Clean the lint screen and place it back in the lint screen housing.

Fill the dryer with a medium load of wet laundry (towels).

Ventilate the laundry room as much as possible.

Start a cycle with high heat.

Check the air temperature coming out of the exhaust vent on the back of the dryer with an accurate thermometer.

The dryer should heat to about 150 degrees and then cycle between 140 and 150 degrees.

If the dryer runs and cycles normally while venting directly into the laundry room, then it is likely that you still have an undetected restriction or clog in the vent duct system to the outside of your home.

If the dryer heats to over 200 degrees, then you have a cycling thermostat that is stuck closed. It will need to be replaced. The high limit safety thermostat will normally open at about 250 degrees. If the dryer heats to over 250 degrees, then the high limit thermostat will likely need to be replaced as well
