fan on full speed, and noisey after Mainn hard drive upgrade
H there I just upgraded from 500GB to 1TBHD/SSD hybrid drive. Anyway my fan is on full speed, I am sure its the CPU. I am wondering if maybe I have put it back in back to front? when I was lifting it out, two of the gold headed wires popped out the fan connection, but popped back in no problem and clicked, I checked them, and they weren't damaged. I don't think it is that, unless I put them in wrong place, but am sure I didn't, as they basically fell into place. all my HD and stuff are recognised, but I was having difficulty putting the Wi-Fi wire back in, as it kept popping out. late 2012 mac MIINI, has a separate cover over the Wi-Fi pin, which is annoying, as it makes it more tricky to get in, I think it went in, but maybe came out. would that be an issue, for cpu on full speed. Hey at least I think t is that. I am going to open up and check in morning, it might be HDD fan? Any ideas Folks. Reason for upgrade was swapping my 500gb to my MacBook pro, and upgrading mac mini. Oh Also when unscrewing the fan I broke a screw thread by turning it wrong way, but it is secure with other two screws, and the broken one is still secure enough and stiff, just need to replace that but fan is secure. I don't really want to buy a new fan if I can fix it, I never pulled anything of motherboard, all seems to be fine when on apart from the noise of the fan at full speed. sounds like a hair dryer, or a TV on loud volume with no signal lol. Anyway any tips or ideas would be helpful. Thanks

Update
Hi Dan here are pictures, it has cane away from the board after tightening. it is a clean break, and still fits in hole, but obviously not secure, as this part was connected to motherboard, and do believe would have been machine made, so replacement would be hard to get, saying that I have it, but the screw is stuck inside tight, I need too get players and try get screw out. then maybe glue it. I cant see why this is making fan spin though, I was thinking of getting Loctite super glue thread glue, as metal to metal and is mental stuff, very strong. or solder, but depends if it needs a connection. Any ideas, or tips

Hi there will do that, can I fix it. or am I left with a new hard drive I cant use. I was told I could upgrade by apple. that's if it is the sensor that is

There is no sensor here! You're thinking about the 3.5" drives. Most likely you broke off the resistor on the logic board.

No joy so far, but i am am on a mission to fix this thing, as my mac mini is running rapid style and is fine, but this noise is doing my head in. I should have said the fan is also running rapid style lol

get hand vice grip to hold when I screw out, meant to add. I cant see why this is making my fan spin? Everything on mac mini works fast. I can put my 500GB back IN, BUT THEN I AM STUCH WITH 1tb/SSD HYBRID, CAN I ADD THIS ANOTHER WAY, LIKE DOCK, OR USB, BUT WOULD THAT MAKE T EXTERNAL, I NEED IT FOR MY MUSIC. EDITING. sorry caps loked
