Why will my phone not turn on?

My Samsung Galaxy S5 will not turn on. It was working fine earlier today, before I went go-karting. After finishing go-karting (I had my phone in my pocket during it) it would not turn on, it would vibrate if I held the power button, and the notification light would flash blue briefly. I took out the battery and put it back in. While doing this I noticed that the back of the battery seemed to be creased, and the battery looked to be bent and slightly deformed. I am home now, and after plugging it in, the red light that indicates charging only glows dimly, very dimly in fact. As well as the red light turning out completely whenever I press the power or home button. I assume this is a broken battery but I do want to be sure before I do anything. Also, if it is a broken battery, how should I go about fixing it? Should I contact my cellular service provider and see what they think? Or should I contact Samsung themselves and order a new one from them.

Thanks in advance for the responses
