hi, my hard drive is making some noise when reads, and work, i think is because is getting old and i live near the sea, (in front of it),
but this means that HD it will suddenly stop working, or will slow down until it stops ? or it can work until the end, because is a closed environment. Thanks.

The answer is "all of the above". It could die tomorrow or in 2 years...With that being said, when a hard drive starts gettig noisy, it's time to replace it before it's too late. First things first make a backup of your vital data then start shopping for a new hard drive.

Thanks, i think same as you, but since the place i live is out of legue ... do you know if a MacBook Pro end 2010 i can instal a flash drive ?
Also, if the HD stop working at all i can go to store and pay for an restore backup? usually all my data is online, but some editing docs is only on my hd, so if it stops i can go to a place and ask for restore data or all will be damaged ?
If you are referring to a solid statel drive , I believe you can use one as a replacement.
If you are going to wait until after the drive stops working to recover your data my you risk losing it altogether or paying big $$ to retrieve it.
