HELP: Power Supply broke from Motherboard

I was cleaning my PS4 for the first time in almost a year (out of country for work and PS4 was left behind to collect dust, unfortunately)

While putting it back together, I stumbled upon the horrible fact that I had accidentally ripped off the Power Supply from the Motherboard. I have absolutely NO IDEA what to do. If soldering is the solution, how much solder, and where? Any other Alternatives? A little chunk of the Motherboard came off, as well.

Any help, EXTREMELY APPRECIATED!

Thanks for the tip!

I went ahead and added the images directly to the post.

I'm so !#^&@@ off the same thing happened to me now I'm afraid my system is destroyed

さんによる

It's not destroyed...you can always send it in for repairs if you don't think you can fix it yourself.

Morgan I have the same problem can u help me with it

Morgan Requiem, the only way to fix it by resoldering the connector. Hang on to it and don't lose it. It can be resoldered. The part that came off is the solder pad. Looks like you need to either rebuild it or scrape part of the trace carefully until you expose the solder, then solder a wire to the trace and the connector. You do have to remove the mother board for this job. If you have never soldered something like this before, consider sending it out for repair.

Update

Use something like a very fine scalpel and carefully scrape until you expose the copper on the point outlined. then solder a wire from that point to the leg of the connector. See if the image clarifies this.

I've gone and removed the motherboard, already.

However, I'm not sure where the trace would be on the motherboard that goes to that specific one that got teared off.

Please note: I am a bit ignorant on the PCB, but have a general idea of what you meant (including the procedure) I've also soldered in the past, but I'm still a bit clueless as to which parts went where in your post.

The female port that I have in my hand, and the pin with the motherboard attached to it... am I meant to remove the motherboard from that pin, and solder some wire in the empty spot where the motherboard chip was before?

On the previous note, what do you mean by rebuild? Please, do excuse my ignorance.

I imagine rebuilding, then, would simply mean exposing the copper trace, tinning it, and soldering a Solder Tab onto it, right?

That being said, it gave me a farfetched idea that seems so practical it probably isn't possible...

But suppose, I exposed the trace, and placed a solder pad down to where the chip missing in the motherboard.

What if, then, I soldered a copper/gold pad ACROSS the three nodes at the bottom, and another copper/gold pad across the two at the top.

Would I then be able to simply place my port onto those two pads, and solder the port to those tabs? And if so, would that be efficient at maintaining the conduction necessary to keep the current flowing and supplying power?

I've updated the original post with a diagram of such concept.

Nope, sorry. If you decide to solder anything across, you will shorten out the circuits. Not a good idea.....;-)

Is there any particular size of wire you would recommend @oldturkey03?

さんによる

I use electrical wire that is about half the width of the traces.

You would need the pcb repaired too. Check out youtube andrew paul has a good video on the exact issue

さんによる

Yes there is, you need to cut of the connector from the power supply cable and connect the wires directly to the motherboard.

I can do this for you but i live in The Netherlands

さんによる

Holy #$@! That is way more messed up than mine. Also hey what is the "pins" I would like to know.

さんによる

@Bob Zanders the contacts that solder to the solder pads on the PCB are sometimes called pins.
