iPhone 5C digitizer doesn't work after replacement

I recently received an iPhone 5C from a friend with a broken screen (just the glass from first glance). I replaced the LCD and digitizer assembly with a new one and it shows vertical lines and a non responsive digitizer. I've tested the screen on other devices and it has worked fine. I've also tested other assemblies on the 5C and experienced the same issues. I've tried at least 10 times to make sure that the connection is properly seated, and it has been, but still haven't absolved the issues. I've inspected the logic board contacts with a 10x loupe as well as the smaller circuits under the protective covering and everything looks fine. The phone was dropped by the previous owner but the outer casing and original LCD assembly shows that it wasn't anything catastrophic; there's very minimal wear on the body itself. I very frequently make in depth repairs on all generation iPhones but this one has me perplexed. I've reviewed similar posts pertaining to these issues but none of the remedies have helped. Any insight is appreciated.

Double, no quadruple check your connectors. Post some images of your connectors with your question. the lines as well as the no-touch looks a lot like a connector issues.

Here's an image of the connectors on the board through a 5x loupe. I wasn't able to get a good picture of the lines on the screen, they are very faint.

mrcvideo, thanks for posting the image. It does look suspicious, but could of course be only my old people vision. Check the areas of concern, marked in red on your image.

Here is a copy of one of my answers with identical issues. "Something like that

can be caused by a bad digitizer connector

like this. Check the ends of the connector. The plastic of the connector has been compressed into the connector, causing it to flare out and preventing from making proper contact.

I've checked the connections and they don't seem to have much damage but I could be wrong. How difficult is it to replace the board connection?

さんによる

Difficult if you have never micro soldered. Use a microscope and a very small needle. Move the pushed down plastic at either end from the inside out. It is very soft and moves easily. Take your time and do not try without magnification. It really does not take much to prevent the connector from properly seating.

Thanks for the insight. Is my overall goal to remove the possibly destroyed pieces of plastic on the ends or just manipulate it so the connection can be made?

さんによる

On all the once I had this happen to, I ended up removing the plastic so that the connector fit. It is tricky so use a very small needle and a good magnifying source. Do not accidentally remove to much so that the pins of the connector will come loose.
