Retreiving photos from water damaged phone

My phone fell down the loo a few months ago, I used rice and left it alone for a good week but in the end I had to buy a new phone (same make and model) I thought seeing as I used HTC back up it would've saved the photos and videos of the birth of my baby girl (nothing graphic I'm not weird) but it hasn't- is it possible for someone or a company to retrieve the photos off of the hard drive of the damaged phone? I've tried contacting HTC and it's been 4 months I've heard from nobody. I can't tell you how precious the photos are thank you so much in advance x

Your old phone may not be dead. It may just need a new battery. As well as cleaning the motherboard and cable ends with 90% or higher isopropyl alcohol and a small soft bristle brush (toothbrush works well). There are plenty of YouTube videos and guides on this site that can show you how to clean with isopropyl alcohol. The isopropyl alcohol removes corrosive minerals left behind by water. This could revive the old phone and allow you to retrieve your photos.

If the motherboard on your old phone has been inspected and is considered dead then you might be able to find a business that can perform data retrieval from a dead phone. I personally do not know of any but do know it is possible. I have heard of JTAG which law enforcement uses to retrieve data.
