Spontaneous Reboots While on Computer

My Macbook Pro spontaneously reboots at random times taking me to the login screen. I understand this is a kernel panic. But everything online seems to be overkill when trying to diagnosis.

Genius Bar did not fix.

Also have had some weird video issues. I was told it could be the Logic Board. Do you think the kernel crashes are because of the logic board as well?

Update

Just discovered that it is YOUTUBE playing in CHROME on my MacBook Pro that causes the crash and instant reboot. I'll have to watch youtube on Safari until I install more ram.

Those reboots knock the audio setting from my iMail program. Sucks.

By the way, did the Genius Bar mention why they wouldn't assist ?

They tried. They said they fixed a few permissions errors and hypothesized that the logic board could be an issue. But the day I got it home, it crashed again while watching youtube on Chrome.

Given the fact you had encountered odd video issues you may want to see if this applies to you: MacBook Pro Repair Extension Program for Video Issues.

I'll check. Thank you,

That's a great place to check, but if I correct, doesn't the repair program only cover 15" MacBook Pros?

@Jake - Having something in hand that points to a problem that is finely being addressed by Apple that is the same in your system might be enough to get your system fixed. Remember: Nothing ventured nothing gained

A good first thing to try is reinstalling OS X. But in this case, it may be a hardware issue. Also, an easier way to do this would be to see if your RAM is ever close to the maximum capacity. If so, low RAM could be the culprit.

Yeah so here's what you do here.

First you familiarize yourself with Apple's extended repair program for your model. https://www.apple.com/support/macbookpro

Then you run furmark on your machine until you kill the GPU.

Then you demand Apple fix it for free since you spent $2700 on this and deserve a laptop that works for more than a year or two.

Or send it to someone like me who will charge you $400+ to fix your logic board. First option is MUCH BETTER!!!!

Can post crash report if needed. Just tell me where to find. Thanks!

To view any log files, open Console, which is in your applications folder. It will open all logs & present the entries by time, most recent first. unless you know the precise time of a recent crash, you might want to wait until the next incident, note the time so that you can find the messages easier.

Hi, I do know the exact time. So what should I do next?
