While recording, the unit may be picking up outside noise that will disrupt or ruin the video playback. These noises are often from wind and other noises that naturally occur. The unit is supposed reduce these noises, but issues may arise causing the interfering noise to be recorded.

You may need to clean the video heads using a cleaning cassette. This will clear out any dust or obstructions that there may be causing there to be outside noise.
