I bought a used 5c off ebay. Ad says won't turn on. After putting the battery in another 5c, got it charged and put it back. It has 3 x's on top of it. Ebay phone powered on but would go down 1% a minute or so. New ebay battery and same thing. Would this be an issue with the batteries or the u2 ic? If the battery, how much better are the ifixit batteries compared to ebay batteries?

You got a cheap battery. Oldturkey03's idea to troubleshoot it is also a good next step.

Well I did attempt to put the battery in the other 5c but the screen wouldn't come on so I went ahead and ordered an ifixit battery only since I have the tools already. Thank You!

Right now it could be either or. Have you tried to see how long the battery lasts in another iPhone?

I just remembered I started a batteryscore app test and the percentage never decreased. Usually when I lock it and unlock it, the percentage goes down. Even stand by with screen off and airplane mode it will decrease the next time I wake it. One night it died from just being on stand by.
