Started not changing the date and time. Now when I turn on computer I get a pop up telling me to fix it. I follow the instructions by putting in the new date and time then save as instructed. It WILL NOT save the new date and time, going back to 2009 as the date. So every time I turn it on, the pop up comes back up. Have done this over 10 times to no avail. Thoughts?????? Fix??????

Marie, sounds like your RTC (CMOS battery) is depleted. That is a little battery that keeps a small amount of power to the proper part on your logic board to remember those settings. Replace the battery and check to see what happens.

Thanks for the fast reply! You are dealing with a total moron when it comes to much more than turning it on and going to a home page. Where is that battery and where do I get one? I neglected to say this is a desktop (tower style - old school) computer. Would that still be the issue? (I always seem to forget something!) Will check back in tomorrow to see what you have to say.
