Why won't the laptop power on?
When I plug in my laptop there is no power LED on either the laptop or the charger. However before I plug in the charger the light is on. Why does the charger light go out when I plug it in?

i sounds like there may be a short in the dc jack or the mother board. id start by seeing if your dc jack is soldered to the mother board, attached to the board with plug in leads or on its own power board and looking in to replacing that first and going from there to suspecting the motherboard if the dc jack is on leads it can be easily tested with a volt meter. I would also test the ac adapter with a volt meter to be sure it putting out the proper voltage.

if there is a short in the motherboard, is there anything that can be done ? the PC doesn't power on, just makes a strange clicking noise.
