Wont power on after screen replace?Turns blue and beeps when charging.

Okay so i purchased a replacement screen on amazon for 5c $30. I watched several tutorials and before changing parts from old screen to new screen it says to take the new replacement and plug it in to verify that it works. Well I did that and all I get is a barley visible blue screen. I plugged my old one back in and the same thing happened. What did I do?

Now I can't power on the phone unless I plug it in to the charger, and all I get from that is the dark barley visible screen which also beeps every few seconds.

Now I can't even turn the phone on or off.

Hi there,

As far as i know also the 5c has the problem that when you put back the shielding that goes over the flex connectors mounting the digitizer and lcd and you reinsert the screws wrongly you can damage your motherboard to a point where it is almost irrepairable. There are people that have been succesfull at repairing this but it takes great skill to not mess it up even more.

What happends when you mess up the screws there is that one screw is longer then the other one, it penetrates the motherboard damaging the micron traces that are beneath it. It takes a microscope to actually see it through the screw mounts.

So if you are pretty sure you did not mess up the screws by placing the bottom left on bottom right and vice versa then something else is going on here, do let us know if this isnt the case, because 9 out of 10 times when a screen has been replaced and the blue screen starts after the fix this will be the issue and you will basicly have a useless brick.

Hey, I appreciate the answer but I have only dismantled the shielding, when I tested the new screen i didn't put the shielding back over it . The shielding is actually still off and in order on my magnetic organizer. I wanted to test the new lcd before switching all of the components on to the new one. Im thinking about taking it in to my nearest repair shop since i failed. see if they can figure it out.

It might be something you knocked off the motherboard then since it does it with the old screen aswell. To replace the screen you would only have to remove the shield and flex connectors so it seems highly unlikely but the answer i gave you is the most common cause of the blue screen. If you feel that this goes beyond your knowledge i would indeed take it to a repair shop and see if they can figure it out. I hope you get it working soon :)

So I guess the replacement screen I bought was a dud because the repair shop connected one of their 5c screens to my phone and the lcd worked perfectly. From know on I will have to order from a reliable provider. At least since I told them i was fixing it myself and they liked that so they helped me out didn't charge me. Now to order a new screen and fix it for good. thanks

I am glad your problems got solved! I cannot stop wondering though why your old screen turned blue aswell? It makes little to no sense unless you somehow wrecked your old screen too. I am wondering because this might help out others not messing up their old screens in case of them still needing it. Did you somehow connected it improperly or use force taking it off?

Be careful, don't pull whatsoever on the flat cables of the screen during dis-assembly and re-assembly.
