Other question: are the original batteries in the iPhone 3GS two models (16gb and 32 gb) rated the same?
My iPhone 3GS has been bricked after installing an ifixit battery and then attempting to update to iOS4. There is speculation that the battery may be to blame. Can someone from the ifixit team weight in on this?

Apparently there is some issue when updating to iOS4 with replacement batteries. Another PO posted the same exact question and it turns out that many people are facing this issue when updating to iOS4 when the iPhone has had a battery replacement. Some have found a work around.

I bought a replacement 3GS battery, and did have problems upgrading to ios4. I put back in my old battery (which works but drains very fast) and I was able to upgrade to ios4.
