Power indicator stays on, though printer doesn't power up

This printer has worked great for a number of years, however, it was recently moved and sat for a few months without use. When we found a home for it in our office, the printer was relocated, the USB cable connected to a PC, and then power cord connected. Immediately, the power indicator light came on, and stayed on, but the printer didn't go through it's normal power up sequence. Pressing the power button "felt" normal - you could tell what position was actually on vs. not one by the way the button stayed in or popped out - but did nothing. The power indicator glowed green without a flicker. Unplugging the printer from the PC and power, then plugging in power only changed nothing. The carriage does not move, and none of the other buttons on the front impact the system.

Cal anyone offer suggestions before I have to find a box to ship it out for service (last resort)?
