How can I be sure the problem is on the inverter cable?

So I figured out to open my Mac and have access to the inverter and inverter cable and I think the problem is on the inverter cable. When I unplug/plug the cable from the inverter to the screen nothing happens but, when I unplug/plug the inverter cable to the inverter the screen flashes. How can I be sure that the problem is on the cable and not on the inverter?
