MacBook battery won't charge normally

Hey Everyone,

I carelessly spilled some juice on my Macbook a while ago. :(

After getting it clean and replacing the dead battery, I got one remaining problem - the battery won't charge normally.

1. If I plug the magsafe in and run it normally, the led stays off, and the laptop will work until the battery runs out, as it's not charging.

2. The macbook runs fine without a battery, with just the DC adapter connected.(green led is on)

3. If I boot without a battery and plug the battery seconds after I turn it on, suddenly the battery starts charging and the orange led is on.

4. When the battery is fully charged, the led turns off(not green as it should).

After the battery runs out, I have to repeat the process again, to charge the battery.

This is very frustrating and I imagine it's not healthy for the mac either, so if you have any suggestion as to what part(s) needs to be replaced, please let me know.

Thanks!

I read on a couple forums that the problem might be the chip 'ISL6258A'(or an equivalent chip for my model), which controls the charging process. Do you know where I can find this chip on the logic board to check for damage? (model is A1369 from 2011)

Do you have the 11 inch or 13 inch model? Updating this question's device to the proper device will help us help you :)

I would go for the charging port. Change all the connecting bits and it should work fine
