Screen goes On and Off after Batt Repair

I just installed a new battery on my own. At first, the screen came on but touching the screen wasn't recognized. I opened back up to make sure everything was connected and now the screen won't go on at all. Every so often the backlight will come on for a few seconds but usually nothing. Any ideas? Thanks.
